As sure as night follows day, WWE 2K19 will follow on from WWE 2K18.
The games official Twitter account recently confirmed the news to fans but stopped short of revealing any major details about the next instalment in the franchise.
“@2K announced today that #WWE2K19 is officially scheduled to release this fall. Stay tuned for more information down the road,” read the official tweet.
Its the rubber stamp which fans probably knew was coming anyway, especially after Independent wrestler Santana Garrett – better known to Impact Wrestling fans as Brittany – revealed some weeks back that she was travelling to California to “film for a video game”.
Brittany appeared in WWE 2K18 and with literally no other possible game on the horizon, it didn’t take long for fans to put two and two together.
Not to mention the fact that 2K Games’ motion capture studio is based in Petaluma, California.
We’re fully expecting another October launch as that’s when the game has usually shipped these past few years.
It’s also fairly nailed on that the game will come to PS4, Xbox One, PC as it usually does.
Despite all of the above, it remains to be seen if 2K will once again ship the game on Nintendo Switch as they did last year.
But outside of this, as we mention, little is known about 2K’s next wrestling game or how it might look to move the series forward.
Already though, fans have been keen to share their own thoughts on how the game could improve on the WWE Games Subreddit.
Here are a few of the top comments from the community:
“I said it last time and I eventually gave in but if they don’t make some serious changes to the gameplay (and add in multiple/custom camera options) I’ll be giving it a miss. I really hope this does feel like a new game, though.”
“2K18’s Creation modes were probably the best of the current-era games, so I’m optimistic that they can improve upon that.”
“They should update the attires/hair/any other changes of all the superstars monthly.”
“Here’s hoping we get a stable Switch version this year.”
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months as we approach the games release date.
