When Did We Last See Shadow of the Tomb Raider?
We got a chance to go hands-on with the recently-revealed game late in April. We dug its darker turn, saying, “Lara Croft has evolved into someone who’s narcissistic, and destructive, and obsessed with finding the next treasure, or the next artifact that defines her importance. She’ll go far enough to ignore her allies, even if it means starting a war – even an apocalypse – all by herself, because the race to win is more important than anything else.” Check out our full impressions here.
Why We’re Excited for Shadow of the Tomb Raider
2013’s Tomb Raider reboot was exactly what the franchise needed to become relevant again. And then in 2015, Rise of the Tomb Raider took that new formula and improved every single aspect, from combat and exploration, to RPG elements and amazing cinematic set-pieces. We were a bit worried that Eidos is handling the core development this time around instead of Crystal Dynamics, but our hands-on time with the game seemed to prove that its a worthy entry in the trilogy.
Will Shadow of the Tomb Raider Be at E3 2018?
100%. It’ll likely be a major pillar of Square-Enix’s E3 Streaming Event on the morning of June 11.
