The newest game in the Battle Royale scene – Radical Heights – is due to get some new updates pretty soon.
The game – which launched last week as a direct competitor to PUBG and Fortnite – is set to introduce a female character model that will fit in perfectly with the radical 80s aesthetic the game is gunning for.
Cliff “CliffyB” Bleszinski – director of the new game and boss man at developer Boss Key – took to Twitter to say that the new character was ‘forthcoming’.
There is no date more specific than that to mention, but we can probably expect the update to drop fairly soon.
It’s worth noting at this point that there have already been some concerns about the game, with some commentors worrying that the title is ‘pay to win’. Boss Key altered some of the Founders Pack bonuses to allay fan fears last week.
There are a few technical issues, too: there are some clipping concerns that allow fans to cheat and hide easily in the game.
We hope these will be addressed by the development studio soon, too.

At a glance, Radical Heights is another Battle Royale game, with an 80s-inspired aesthetic and popping colour scheme. It offers something pretty different from the likes of PUBG and Fortnite, if only in terms of aesthetic.
As with the aforementioned titles, the main gameplay loop asks players to fight in a 100-to-one battle, with the last remaining player taking the riches.
The free-to-play shooter is currently available to download on Steam, with a paid Founder’s Pack featuring cosmetic items and Gems available if you’re keen to spend money on the title.
“Partake in high-stakes battle royale gunplay in a sunny SoCal dome as contestants drive-by on BMX bikes or stalk other contestants from the shadows in search for weapons and prizes… but also CASH that you can bank – win or lose!” reads a Boss Key post explaining the game.
“Whether you spend that cash on righteous customisation in your personal prize room or pull it from an ATM to purchase weapons early in the next game – building a wealth of cash is as important as taking down the competition in this irreverent 80s-themed action game show where everyone wants to be rich and famous!”
Radical Heights PS4 & Xbox One release date
While the game will initially only be available on PC, Boss Key hasn’t ruled out a PS4 and Xbox One release.
Asked for information on a potential console release, Boss Key replied: “Radical Heights is on STEAM, PC. Right now, we’re focused at building Radical Heights in X-TREME Early Access with Community and releasing a 1.0 version in 2019.
“Once we leave Early Access, who knows what the future holds!
“The team is continuously working on updates for fun things contestants will be able to experience in the Dome in the future. Noted and be sure to let us know more feedback when you get hands-on!”
Boss Key has also confirmed that controller support will be added as part of a future update – suggesting that an Xbox One and PS4 release could certainly be on the cards at some point.
