The wait for PlayStation Plus subscribers is nearly over. Later today Sony will announce their new lineup of PS Plus titles for April 2018.
It’s going to take some amazing titles to best the excellent March lineup, so you might want to temper your expectations slightly.
Although, in more recent months, the PS Plus lineup has included more and more BIG PS4 exclusives, such as Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank, Knack to name but three.
So it’s not impossible to imagine that a few more big name PS4 exclusives could soon make their way to PS Plus in the months ahead, although probably not all at once.
Typically the new free PS Plus games announcement is made by Sony at 4.30pm UK time and that’s when we’re expecting the new games to drop on March 28th.
Sony has always made it their habit to reveal their games on the last Wednesday of the month, which would be today, ahead of a release on the first Tuesday of the month. That means you can expect the new free games to release on Tuesday, April 3rd 2018.
The only potential spanner in the works is that, by now, Xbox would have revealed their Games with Gold titles.
For some reason, Microsoft has held off and while we doubt Sony would push their own announcement back to ensure they still release their own titles after Microsoft, don’t say we didn’t warn you if that’s exactly what happens.
PS PLUS APRIL 2018 LEAKS?
Last month fans were gift-wrapped a bit of news early on in the month when a Spanish YouTuber teased a HUGE lineup for the PS Plus March 2018 reveal. Something he learnt from a PlayStation rep on a visit to Sony offices. Remarkably he ended up being spot on, resulting in the two excellent PS4 exclusives we got in March.
But in April, there’s been no such leaks. Yet.
The PS Plus Reddit page had often proved a good source of early insider info, but info from the page has dried up in recent months.
The good news, however, is that we don’t need to wait long, because the next batch of games from Sony should be announced next week.
However, it is worth noting that PS+ rosters often leak ahead of time – so it’s possible we could learn something in hours leading up to today’s official announcement.
PS PLUS EXPLAINED
For the sake of anyone who hasn’t opted into Sony’s incredible PlayStation Plus service at the dirt cheap price of £6.99 a month – Or £49.99 for the year / £19.99 for three months.

• Access to online multiplayer on your PlayStation 4
• Exclusive discounts at PlayStation Store
• Share Play – so your friends can play your games even if they don’t own a copy themselves
