Overwatch Halloween event ENDING SOON: Season 7 start time and CP rewards revealed

The Overwatch Halloween end date is due to end.

The developers over at Blizzard have announced that the event will end along with the start of Blizzcon 2017.

If you’re upset about Overwatch’s Halloween event coming to an end, don’t worry: there will at least be new Overwatch news to keep you interested when the Blizzon event kicks off on November 3.

Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan recently teased that more news would be announced about the game at Blizzcon:

“We have a ton of cool, fun stuff coming — some of which will be announced at Blizzcon,” he told fans on the forums.

The Halloween event will end just before that, on November 1.

So make sure you get everything you want from the event before it times out tomorrow in the UK.

Since Blizzard operates out of California, US, UK and EU players will likely get to enjoy the event for most of the day tomorrow.

“And we’re also really proud of some of the work we just completed to make spectating esports better,” he continued in the post.

“World Cup should be pretty cool and will teach us a lot for when it comes to improving spectating in the future.

“We really appreciate all of the passion you’ve shown for the game. We’re lucky to have players like you.”

Last year at Blizzcon, we got to see an interesting new movie from the developers, as well as the reveal of a new character.

We’ve also heard rumours that a new Overwatch spin-off project could be in the works – whilst that’s likely nowhere near ready for launch, we could hear something interesting about this new game at Blizzcon 2017 this year.

Fans are also getting ready for the Overwatch Season 7 start date, which has been confirmed by Blizzard.

The new season of Competitive Play will kick off on Tuesday, October 31 at 5:00 p.m. PDT (or Thursday, November 1 at 00:00 UTC).

As usual, this stage will start three days after the end of Season 6, which finished on Saturday, October 28 at 5:00 p.m. PDT (or Sunday, October 29 at 00:00 UTC).

Here’s the Skill Rating (SR) to Competitive Point (CP) breakdown for Season 6:

SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 65 CP
SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 125 CP
SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 250 CP
SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 500 CP

If you’ve performed well in the Competitive scene this season, you’ll be able to cash those points in for some nice new golden weapons.
