After being announced back in February the is finally going on sale in the UK.

With a curved edge-to-edge display this new smartphone is attempting to steal some sales from Samsung and its brilliant Galaxy S8 and S9.

Along with this new design the Nokia 8 Sirocco also includes a dual-lens camera with ZEISS optics.

This double snapper allows the Sirocco to offer 2x optical zoom as it includes both a 12MP main and 13MP telephoto cameras.

To help improve images further the Nokia 8 features easy access to a Pro mode which allows users quick and easy manual control over white balance, focusing, ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation.

Inside the Sirocco you’ll find 6GB RAM, 128GB storage and wireless charging but sadly there’s no sign of Qualcomm’s latest 845 processor.

Instead, HMD Global – who are behind the re-launch of Nokia phones – has decided to place last year’s Snapdragon 835 chip inside.

Although the power maybe slightly disappointing, users will be treated to a pure software experience via Android One.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco joins the Android One family, offering a high quality software experience designed by Google. It will stay fresh over time with the latest Google innovations and regular security updates.

HMD Global says with its pure Android installation, the Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with no unnecessary UI changes or hidden processes that would eat up your battery life or slow it down so you can enjoy your phone for longer.

If you fancy owning a Nokia 8 Sirocco it’s available now to buy from Carphone Warehouse, John Lewis, Mobile Phones Direct and Amazon for a RRP of £649.

There is also a nice bonus of buying one now with all customers who pick one up before June 14 able to claim a Google Home Mini smart speaker for free.

The Google Home Mini usually costs £49 so it’s a pretty good deal.

Speaking about the Nokia 8 launch, Sarah Edge, General Manager of UK & Ireland, HMD Global, said: “With the amount of similar looking smartphones available, it can be hard to stand out.

“The Nokia 8 Sirocco is designed to be your elegant companion, letting everybody know you have a special, unique and undeniably premium smartphone.

“The Nokia 8 has been one of our most popular phones in the UK so we’re delighted to bring this design classic to our fans here.”
