It’s easy to forget that the Nokia 6 is a year old, given that it didn’t make its way to the UK until August, but it was actually unveiled much earlier in January 2017. The company has in January 2018 announced an update to the original smartphone, with the 2018 model now official.
We were expecting an imminent launch given that the new Nokia 6 had recently passed through TENAA with the model number TA-1054.
When is the Nokia 6 (2018) UK release date?
HMD Global confirmed the Nokia 6 (2018) on Friday 5 January 2018. It will be available for pre-order in China from 10 January.
It has not yet been confirmed when the new Nokia 6 will arrive in Europe, though we do know Nokia is holding a special event at MWC on Sunday 25 February. It is likely to re-announce the Nokia 6 here, potentially alongside a Nokia 9.
How much will it cost?
The price in China is CNY 1,499 (£170) for 32GB and a 64GB model is CNY 1,699 (£190). Fingers crossed the UK will see similar pricing.
What are the specifications and features for the new Nokia 6?
Previous leaks were correct, and the new Nokia 6 is a Snapdragon 630 smartphone with 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage and Nokia’s Bothie camera, with 16Mp at the back and 8Mp at the front. It also has a hybrid dual-SIM slot and a 3,000mAh battery.
Here are a few pictures of the phone as it hits the Chinese Nokia site. Given the delay on the last model, we’ll have to wait till later this year to see a UK release.
