Blizzard will be bringing a new theme with skins, mounts and more to Heroes of the Storm later this month.
The theme will have a lucha libre style and will run from May 22 to June 11.
The event will be called Nexomania, and Blizzard has just started sharing images of what players will be able to get their hands on.
So far, we know Lunara, Sonya, Diablo, Garrosh, E.T.C., and Kharazim are going to be getting new skins, but we also know a little more about the event.
“During Nexomania, all Loot Chests you earn through progression, Heroes Brawl, or by spending Gems will be Nexomania Loot Chests,” Blizzard writes on the game’s site.
“This Nexomania, the biggest brawlers in the Nexus will don colorful costumes and square off in no-holds-barred battle.
“Check out new Skins for Lunara, Sonya, Diablo, Garrosh, E.T.C., and Kharazim—plus adorable Mounts!” Blizzard states.
You can see the new skins of the characters in the gallery above, and you can see a tease of the content in the video below, too.
Some of the mounts look incredible, too – especially the ‘Pigñata’.
The limited-time items shown above have a chance to drop from Nexomania Loot Chests only. Items from last year’s summer event will also be available in Nexomania Loot Chests, according to Blizzard.
What is Heroes of the Storm?
As Blizzard itself states, Heroes of the Storm – commonly abbreviated to HOTS – is a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and macOS. The game was released on June 2, 2015
An official description of the game from Blizzard reads:
“Heroes of the Storm is a raucous MOBA starring your favourite Blizzard characters. Build and customize heroes from across every Blizzard universe to suit your play style. Team up with your friends and engage in fast-paced mayhem across varied battlegrounds that impact strategy and change the way you play the game.”
The game features heroes from Blizzard’s franchises including Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, The Lost Vikings, and Overwatch. The game uses both free-to-play and freemium models and is supported by micropayments, which can be used to purchase heroes, visual alterations for the heroes in the game, and mounts.
Because of the game’s more open playstyle, Blizzard isn’t keen on referring to the game as a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) or an RTS (real-time strategy). Instead, the company calls it a ‘hero brawler’.
