After a week of speculation, Bandai Namco and CD Projekt Red have confirmed that Geralt of Rivia will appear as a guest character in Soulcalibur 6.
The hero of The Witcher series was shown off in a new trailer, which you can watch below:
Geralt will be voiced by original voice actor Doug Cockle, and brings with him a Kaer Morhen stage to fight across. The soundtrack for the stage will be “Hunt or Be Hunted” from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Geralt makes sense as a Soulcalibur guest – he’s got the old-timey aesthetic, focus on swordplay, and a touch of magic for good measure. We’ve already seen him using a series of his Sign spells, so it seems he’ll be able to mix things up a little.
Soulcalibur 6 has now revealed 9 characters from its roster. Alongside Geralt, there’s Ivy, Zasalamel, Mitsurugi, Sophitia, Kilik, Nightmare, Xianghua, and newcomer, Grøh.
It’s due for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at some point this year.
