Fortnite servers are offline this evening with thousands of PS4, Xbox One, PC users suffering from server and connection issues.
Independent website DownDetector tracks social comments around outages and is currently monitoring the situation, as well as numerous people unhappy with the outage.
Down Detector logged thousands of reports from fans unable to connect to the game at 5.30PM today.
The issue is mainly affecting users in the UK with Down Detector initially registering close to 200 reports before swiftly turning to 1000 from users experiencing issues with the game and it appears to be rising.
According to the official Fortnite Twitter account, there were a few issues affecting login rates and matchmaking.
More recently though, the same official Twitter account confirmed the game was going offline, telling users:
“Players will be temporarily unable to login to Fortnite while we work through an issue with our database. Thank you for your patience!”
Not ideal timing on a Saturday night and following on from the games new Halloween themed event.
It also comes after a recent patch earlier today (Fortnite 1.25) on PS4 and PC to stop a major bug affecting players.
Speaking about the new 1.25 patch earlier today, the Fortnite team said:
“We will be pushing an update @ 2:00am ET, Oct 28 in order to fix a prevalent crash affecting all players,” a message from Epic Games explains.
“This update will be deployed for PC + PS4 at 2:00am ET with Xbox following shortly after.
“There will be no downtime. Players will need to update their clients.”
